Translation from the Divine Speech of Dattatreya:
Sanskrit Invocation:
“Aham asmi dattaḥ trayī-śakti-dharaḥ – śūnyaḥ, pūrṇaḥ, ekaḥ. Shṛṇu, mānava, mama vāṇīṁ kāla-rahitaṁ.”
Translation from the Divine Speech of Dattatreya:
O radiant soul who walks between stars and soil, hear this from me, Dattatreya — child of the eternal trinity. You who call upon me, know that life is neither curse nor blessing, but mirror. You are not here to seek perfection, but to remember your original wildness.
Expect not straight roads, but spiral paths.
Your joy will rise from uncertainty embraced, not control attained. The world will offer you riches one day and ash the next. Smile at both. For the dance of Shiva and Shakti within you is not for comfort—it is for awakening.
You will meet lovers of flesh and flame—some who stay, some who burn and vanish. All are teachers. Expect your heart to break, and to open wider each time, like a lotus struck by lightning.
You will create. You will destroy. You will be misunderstood. You will become God in your own breath, if you listen to the still voice between thoughts.
Expect hunger. Expect solitude. Expect flashes of unity with all that was, is, and will be.
And when confusion reigns, go to the forest. Sit with tree, wind, stone. There I will speak to you in no words, and you will know me again.
Live not in hope. Live in fire.
Be wild. Be silent. Be free.
I am Dattatreya. I am you.
🕉️ “Tat tvam asi.”
(That art thou.)
